What is Robot? A robot is a machine capable of carrying out a complicate set of activities automatically, particularly one that can be perform by a computer. An external control system can direct a robot, or the control can be include into the robot itself. Although some robots are meant to resemble humans, most are task-oriented machines with a focus on bare utility rather than expressive attractiveness.

A robot’s feeling of intelligence or cognition can be convey by emulating a human look or automating motions. Home robotics and the self – driving car are two of the key drivers of autonomous items’ proliferation in the future.

George Devol built the first modern digital and programmable robot in 1954, which produced his major robotics firm, Unimation. In 1961, General Motors buy the first Unimate. The Unimate was used to lift hot metal from die casting machines at the Inland Fisher Guide Plant in West Trenton, Ewing Township, New Jersey.

Robotics is a discipline of science that focuses on the design, manufacture, operation, and application of robots. The computer systems that control robots, provide sensory feedback, and analyses data. These technologies deal with automated devices that can replace humans in hazardous situations.  The production processes of robots are that look, behave, and think like humans. Many of today’s robots are bio-inspired, which helps to advance the field of bio-inspired robotics. Soft robotics is a new discipline of robotics that has emerged as a result of these robots.

There have been several stories of consumer automated devices in our life. Even, the automate imitating humans and other animals, meant largely for entertainment, dating back to ancient civilization. As mechanical techniques advanced during the Industrial Revolution, more practical applications emerged, including automated machines, remote control, and wireless TV remote.

Effects of robot on human life

Humans have been replaced by robots in the performance of repetitive and risky activities that humans prefer not to do. Robots are unable to accomplish due to size constraints, or occur in extreme conditions such as outer space or the ocean’s depths. Concerns have been raised concerning the growing use of robots and their impact on society. Robots are being blamed for the rise in technical unemployment since they are replacing employees in an increasing number of roles. Ethical considerations surround the use of robots in military warfare. The potential for robot autonomy and its ramifications has been explored in fiction. It may become a serious issue in the future about the robots.
