Biochemistry: What is biological chemistry?

The study of chemical processes within and concern to live things is called biochemistry or biological chemistry. Biochemistry is divided into 3 fields: structural biology, enzymology, and metabolism. It is a sub-field of both chemistry and biology. Biochemistry has proven successful at understanding life processes by these 3 fields in the later decades of the twentieth century. Biochemical methods and study are being used to examine and develop almost every fields or sections of the biological sciences.

Biochemistry is the study of the components and composition of living things, as well as how they join together to form life. In this manner, biochemistry can be identify all the way back to the ancient Greeks.

Biochemistry aims to understand the chemical base that enables biological molecules to give rise to the activities that occur within live cells and between cells. Biochemistry has a lot to do with the form and function of tissues and organs. It is intimately connect to molecular biology, which is the study of biological phenomena’ molecular mechanisms in living things.

The structures, bonds, activities, and interactions of biological macro-molecules such as proteins, nucleic acids, polysaccharides, and lipids are the fields of most of biochemistry. They develop cells their structure and take place in activities many of the processes that make life possible.

The chemistry of the cell is also controlled by small molecule and ion processes. These can be biological or inorganic (for example, water and metal ions) (for example, the amino acids, which are used to synthesize proteins). Metabolism is the process by which cells use chemical reactions to get energy from their surroundings.

Research findings biochemistry are mostly used in medicine, nutrition, and agriculture. Biochemists study and examine different diseases, their causes and treatments of these diseases in medicine. Nutrition is the study of how to keep one’s health and well-being, as well as the consequences of dietary deficiencies. Biochemists study soil and fertilizers in agriculture. Crop production, storage, and pest control are all objectives.
